Turkish Bankers Association (TBA) held their Annual General Meeting at the halls of the British Bankers Association
on Liverpool Street on 11th November. The AGM started with Sevki Acuner, the chairman of the association giving a
speech about the projects they'd organised in the last term and other potential projects in the pipeline for TBA. The financial
audit report for 2004-2005 was presented by Ozgur Altan from Turkish Is Bank and was accepted by majority vote.
Mr Acuner then presented Kemal Sahin, the vice president of the association, with a plaque for his exceptional effort and commitment
to the TBA and wished him good luck with his new job at Deutsche Bank in Turkey.
The members of the association, which aims to bring together Turkish professionals working in the financial
sector, also elected its next Executive Committee.
The new board of directors of TBA consists of; Sevki Acuner (EBRD), Ozgur Altan (Isbank) , Tanju Yorulmazer (Bank of England) Sanem
Teoman (Isbank), Nurhan Akyol (Bloomberg), Deniz Erzeybek (ABN Amro) and Hakki Arslan (Turkish Central Bank). The two auditors elected are
Cigdem Beykoylu (Turkish Bank) and Serkan Gunal (Ziraat Bank).
After the AGM all the members met at Sofra Restaurant for Kemal Sahins farewell
dinner which was attended by vice-consul Sener Cebeci as well as other VIPs from the UK Turksih community.
